Batu Pahat name alleged from event tool to obtain supplies fresh water at the Pantai Minyak Beku located in Kuala Sungai Batu, Batu Pahat. This work is made by Siamese army (Islamic Persons Pattani Siamese ) under leadership Awi Dicu in 15th century when want to attack Malacca.
That carving effect extant until now. This effect is known as Perigi Siamese or Perigi Batu Pahat.
City centre for district Batu Pahat was Bandar Penggaram. The Penggaram's name reputedly originated from of 'base rapids', because found rapids at a small river drifted from back hill that town.
